THIS CONCERT IS SO RARE THAT EVEN T. J. Helmerich CONTACTED ME FOR A COPY -- WHICH I OF COURSE GAVE TO HIM FOR FREE.

Here is a very rare live recording of Brett Garsed and T. J. Helmerich at The Baked Potato on 8/21/1997. This show was a favorite of mine to listen to for years. I enjoyed all the legato runs and the slight bit of funkiness going on. Both Brett and T. J. are virtuoso guitarists, (and really nice chaps as well). T. J. uses a unique method of obtaining his signature legato sound using an 8-finger tapping approach. He sits with the guitar in his lap turned vertically to allow his hammer on tapping to be easier. You can see it in videos of him playing live.

Sorry, I don't know for certain who was on bass, (perhaps Ric Fierabracci?) and drums, (maybe Virgil Donati?) that evening.

Volume levels were enhanced. Crowd noise and comments edited out to preserve flow of the music.
